Installation instructions, made for your job.
Every job gets its own set of installation instructions. It covers only the window and door types on that building, and every step is drawn in 3D from our own models.

Built from your window and door types.
The Install app makes the cover and the index for each job from that job's own types. It counts the windows, doors and openings, the mullions, and any louvers, trickle vents and insect screens, and lists a section only when the job has it. A job with no sliding doors gets no sliding-door section.
The engineered numbers, such as how far apart the straps go, come from the job's shop drawings. Where an instruction and the shop drawings differ, the shop drawings govern.
Every step, drawn from our own models.
The drawings come from 3D models of our own frames, built on our CAD installation details. Each step has one instruction and one drawing, so the installer sees the strap, the shim and the bead the way they will look in the opening. Vi6 and Vi5 each have their own set.
Waterproofed, plumb, level and square, with both diagonals measured, and in line with the openings beside it.
Each strap slots into the frame's track and twists 90° before the unit is lifted in.
Bend the strap back, shim behind it, bend it over the shim and fasten. Shims at every anchor point, including the head.
Backer rod, then the bead, inside and out, and around every strap.

In the Install app, with the rest of the job.
The instructions open inside the Install app, from the job's own page, beside its shop drawings and window types. Download them or print them from the same screen. The adjustment instructions for the job's hardware sit next to them.
The standard set is open to everyone.
The installation details and step-by-step sheets on the professionals page are the general set. Your job's set takes only what applies to your building, and where the two differ, the job's set governs.
