Student housing.
Built on a semester deadline, with hundreds of identical openings and a tall building to put them in.
What we do well here.
Sixteen stories in Houston's wind: AW-class fixed windows and a wider mullion at the corners, engineered to the local code.
The Vi5 with a nailing fin fixes to a framed wall the way the framer expects, and the Vi6 anchors through the jamb in block and concrete.
Tempered or laminated glass where the code asks, limiters on the operable sash, hardware that takes a student's year.
Repetition is what a factory is for: one shop drawing, one sample, then every floor the same.
Containers unloaded floor by floor, so a crew on a deadline never waits for a window.
2 buildings.
